Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Zanzibar to Mikumi — Game Drive Adventure
05:00 AM — Early hotel pickup in Zanzibar and transfer to the ferry terminal. 07:00 AM — Ferry departure across the Indian Ocean to Dar es Salaam. 08:30 AM — Arrive in Dar and transfer to the electric train station. Board the express electric train for a comfortable 1.5-hour journey to Morogoro, passing through rural Tanzania’s beautiful countryside. Stop for lunch in Morogoro to recharge. 11:15 AM — Drive to Mikumi National Park, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive through this incredible park. Spot elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, hippos, wildebeest, and much more as the African sun sets over the savannah. Check into your safari lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 — Morning Game Drive & Maasai Village
Rise early for a sunrise game drive when animals are most active. Explore different sections of the park, following your expert guide’s knowledge of the best spots. After a bush breakfast, visit a local Maasai village to learn about their ancient pastoral culture, traditional homes, and way of life. Enjoy lunch before beginning the return journey to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro.
Day 3 — Return to Zanzibar
After breakfast, take the express train back to Dar es Salaam and connect with the ferry back to Zanzibar. Transfer to your hotel. Your safari adventure is complete — welcome back to island life!
