Stone Town Walking Tour
Step back in time on a guided walk through Stone Town, the cultural heart of Zanzibar and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient quarter is a living tapestry of Swahili, Arab, Persian, Indian, and European influences—visible in every carved doorway, crumbling palace, and bustling market stall. Your knowledgeable local guide will lead you through a maze of narrow alleyways where the scent of cloves and cardamom drifts from open doorways, past mosques and Hindu temples standing side by side, and into courtyards where generations of traders have done business. You will hear stories of sultans and slaves, merchants and explorers, gaining a deep understanding of the island’s layered history. The tour is designed at a relaxed pace with plenty of time for photographs, questions, and spontaneous discoveries around every corner.
